After the glorious battle, a celebration follows and it continues until the next night. Then the defenders of the hill go to sleep again, this time in Mirkwood, where they are taking cover from the vigilant eyes of enemy spies and scouts.
The night has come, the Moon has risen and its pale light seeps softly through the leaves of the trees. Invisible beasts and night birds sing in the darkness. Somewhere in the distance a stick snaps. And again... and again! The sentries are anxious, they hear quiet metallic ratchet, then steps. Someone is approaching! They run back to awake the others, but they are late, the enemy is too close.
The two armies stand against each other. They are on their horses holding firmly the weapons. A horn echoes and the legionnaires assume attack formation. Another horn answers and the horses take off galloping.
The battle is great and this time the legionnaires win. The company from the hill spreads around in Mirkwood. Their leader is running deeper and deeper among the trees. He is exhausted, but the enemy is approaching relentlessly. In the end, the forest becomes impassable, and they give up chasing him.
The tune was created in nine days at the end of August and the beginning of September 2009.
