Chapter Four. Through the Eyes of the Creatures.
Dreams come to life! The dead men’s choir is singing! One hundred nightmares with three hundred teeth are hunting for a new soul. They are breaking a trail through the forest on their way to an abandoned hut, where the bandit has found shelter for the night.
Writing the song
In August 2012, I began working on an experiment. I was obsessed with the sound of the Hammond organ, so I wanted to find a way to reproduce it using the computer. My ultimate goal (initially, very optimistic) was to achieve what Jon Lord and Ken Hensley once did.
In November, I started composing the song itself. Combining the Hammond sound with two guitar riffs, that I came up with in the autumn of 2010, I wrote the introduction, then let the ideas evolve. In April 2013, I have completely finished the music, including recording it, and in May, during a five day singing marathon, I recorded the vocal parts, together with the ones for “Bandit’s Song”.
