One winter night, in the beginning of 2017, I was watching “A Love Song for Bobby Long”. When the the movie ended, a melody popped in my head, then I picked the guitar and played it. And as I was playing a tale emerged. It was the peculiar story of an old man living by a lake. But this was no ordinary lake. Its bottom was a passage to another world where gruesome, evil creatures lived. But the old man was always there, fighting against them and protecting the Earth.
Since the song tells the story of ancient times, just like the people from these times would, I used various everyday objects to make the music. I shook bottles full of water and clattered with metal cans full of rice; I clapped my hands and rattled with a wooden tambourine; I even used the sound of a bouncing ball. And of course, last but not least, I played four guitars and two bass guitars.
I mixed all this into music between March and May. Afterwards, I wrote the lyrics, and by the end of July the song was ready.
